BMW
X1 LWB (Long Wheelbase)
Overview
India's highest-selling luxury SUV just got bolder and bigger. BMW India has officially launched the Long Wheelbase (LWB) version of the X1 - and this extended-wheelbase SUV makes a genuinely strong first impression. Being locally assembled in Chennai also works in the buyer's favour, keeping pricing more accessible than a fully imported model would allow.
The biggest talking point here is quite literally its size. The BMW X1 LWB measures 4,616mm in length, 2,104mm in width, and 1,641mm in height, riding on a stretched 2,800mm wheelbase - increased by 108 mm longer and 11mm taller than the standard X1. On the road, this translates into a more substantial, commanding presence, without losing the compact SUV's core proportions.
Design-wise, the X1 LWB stays true to BMW's signature styling, with adaptive LED headlights flanking a large kidney grille, along with sharp, 3D-sculpted LED taillights that give it a distinctive road identity, day or night. It rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, rounding off a look that's unmistakably BMW.
But it's not just about looking bigger - the added length translates into real-world benefits. A 9 sqft panoramic sunroof adds to the sense of openness inside, together proving that this SUV backs up its bolder stance with real substance.
