Ibtida – Ek Mehfil - Archival Season 3, titled Qissa, offered a unique and intimate musical experience that moved away from traditional performance formats. The event recreated the nostalgic atmosphere of old Delhi mehfils within an indoor setting, featuring gadda-style seating for three hundred guests. By removing raised stages and formal rows, the organisers ensured that the audience felt deeply connected to the music. Rekha Bhardwaj served as the heart of the evening, blending live Sufi-inspired musical performances with personal stories about her riyaaz and life journey. The environment was meticulously crafted with the subtle scent of gajra and a focused pace to encourage slow, meaningful engagement. This gathering was designed to move beyond passive observation, allowing the music to flow organically between moments of reflection and silence, leaving a lasting, profound impression on every attendee long after the final notes faded away.
