KNMA Dance Festival - Festival Pass
Overview
Madhavi Mudgal, Kalamandalam Balasubramanian, Amrita Lahiri and Meera Sreenarayanan are among the artists bringing their work to the KNMA Dance Festival. Across four days, the festival presents stories of love, devotion, friendship and longing through different Indian dance and theatre traditions.
The programme features Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Kathakali, Manipuri, Kuchipudi and Kattaikkuttu, giving audiences a chance to see very different styles in one festival. Highlights include 'Ananga Ranga', which brings together artists from several classical traditions, 'Ananda-lila', a Manipuri presentation based on Krishna and the Gopis, and 'Milan', inspired by the poetry of Punjabi mystic Piro. The final evening moves towards devotion with works such as 'Pranidhana', 'Rang Ruhani' and 'Basanta Anuraga'. Spread across KNMA’s outdoor spaces, the festival is a lovely way to spend an evening discovering India’s performing arts beyond the usual stage shows.
