The Sitar for Mental Health India Tour 2026 invited audiences to an evening of deep reflection in Kolkata. Most concerts encouraged passive listening, but this unique event asked guests to set aside distractions and remain truly present. Rishab Sharma, the youngest disciple chosen by Pandit Ravi Shankar, showcased a musical style that blended centuries-old ragas with modern electronic textures. His performances, including pieces like The Burning Ghat, navigated emotional territories that ranged from calm to intense. As the first sitarist to perform solo at the White House and an official mental health advocate for the United Nations, Rishab utilized his platform to explore music as a tool for wellness. Through his initiative founded in 2020, he demonstrated that sound could reach deeper than words. Whether guests were familiar with Indian classical music or entirely new to the genre, the evening offered a transformative sonic experience.
