Brahmagupta Srivastava, fondly known as Baggu, is a small-town UPSC aspirant from Uttarakhand who dreams of securing a respectable government job. Coming from a modest family where his father works as a government peon, Baggu constantly struggles to live up to his father's expectations. Their already strained relationship grows more difficult as repeated failures leave Baggu unemployed and increasingly isolated.

His girlfriend Rinku is one of the few people who helps him cope with the pressure. But when she leaves him for an SDM officer, Baggu's world comes crashing down. Branded a failure by both society and his own family, he reaches a breaking point. Instead of giving up, however, Baggu turns his disappointment into determination and resolves to clear the UPSC examination and build a better life for himself.

Blending humour with an emotional coming-of-age story, Aryabhatt Ka Zero explores unemployment, competitive exams, family expectations, heartbreak and the frustration of being unable to prove yourself. At its heart, the film is about learning from failure and finding the courage to try again.
