Overview
The fourth season of Classroom of the Elite takes us straight into the intense world of the second year curriculum. Ayanokoji and his friends have officially moved up to Class 2-D but any hope for a peaceful time is immediately crushed by the school’s brutal new rules. The biggest game changer is the introduction of the OAA app which puts a rank on every student's talent for everyone to see and this takes away the low profile Ayanokoji used to rely on.

- Season 4 was officially announced at the MF Bunko J Autumn School Festival 2025, where the April 2026 premiere date, key visual, and six new first-year cast members were all revealed together. However, it is worth noting that the very first announcement of Season 4's existence was actually made earlier, at the MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2024, just five months after Season 3 wrapped, making it one of the fastest greenlit continuations in the franchise's history.
- Season 4 brings a fresh creative direction with Noriyuki Nomata stepping in as the new Series Director at Lerche. While Nomata may not be a household name yet, he has built a strong track record across the industry, having served as episode director on acclaimed series including Assassination Classroom, Psycho-Pass, and Godzilla Singular Point. COTE Season 4 marks his most prominent solo directing assignment to date, signalling a deliberate choice by the production to bring in a director with diverse experience rather than simply continuing with the previous team.
