Six months have passed since Matt Murdock lost his old life, and now he finds himself in a New York City that is legally turned against him. Wilson Fisk is no longer a criminal in hiding because he has become the mayor. Fisk uses his power and new laws to hunt down anyone wearing a mask. Instead of using a giant army, he creates a special anti-vigilante task force that encourages regular people to report on heroes. For Matt the fight has moved from dark alleys into the public eye, and he is struggling to keep going because he is heartbroken over the death of his best friend, Foggy Nelson. Even though Foggy is gone, Matt sees him in memories and feels his absence every day. This loss makes his mission feel much more personal and painful as he tries to honor the memory of his friend.
