Rohan is a quiet software engineer whose world revolves around his work and, quietly, around Meera, his colleague, who lights up every room she walks into. He has never said a word about how he feels. He probably never would have.

Then the company trip to Sapporo happens.

Against the snow-covered landscapes of Hokkaido, Rohan finds a wish-granting bell and makes the only wish that matters to him - one day with Meera. The wish comes true in the most inconvenient way possible. A set of circumstances strips the two of them away from the rest of their team, leaving them stranded together for twenty-four hours in the middle of a Japanese winter with nowhere to hide and nothing to fall back on except each other.

Ek Din is not a love story that resolves neatly. It is about one perfect day that exists outside of ordinary time, and what it costs to have it. The film asks whether something brief and true is worth the grief of knowing it cannot last, and leaves the answer where it belongs, with the audience.
