Overview
Everyone knows Elle Woods made it to Harvard. What nobody talks about is how she survived high school first.
It's 1995, and Elle's father has accepted a job in Seattle; the family is moving, and Elle is leaving behind everything she knows. Bel-Air, the life she had, the version of herself that fit perfectly into it. Seattle is a completely unique world. Less pink. Full of skater boys. Almost no blondes. Elle is going to stand out, and not in the way she's used to.

-The idea for Elle was born after Reese Witherspoon binge-watched Netflix's Wednesday and thought -why not do the same for Elle Woods? During a January 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she revealed: "I saw that Wednesday Addams show and I was like, 'Oh, she was in high school — we should do Elle Woods in high school!'" One streaming night sparked an entire prequel series.
- Principal photography took place in Vancouver, British Columbia, and at The Bridge Studios. To avoid swarms of paparazzi and fans looking for the iconic pink-clad character, the production shot entirely under the cryptic working title 'Park La Brea'
-To keep production under wraps, Season 1 filmed entirely under the alias Park La Brea in Vancouver, British Columbia, beginning March 31, 2025, with additional shooting at The Bridge Studios before wrapping July 22, 2025. Season 2 followed the same playbook under a new alias Hillcrest Road at the same locations. Two seasons, two secret identities, zero pink on the call sheets.
