Overview

Enola is in Malta for her wedding to Tewkesbury, which is already enough to navigate without the fog and grey of London she is used to. Then Sherlock vanishes, and every wedding detail she was sorting through gets dropped the moment she understands how serious this is.

This is not Sherlock burying himself in a case and going quiet. He is actually missing.

The deeper she goes looking for him, the clearer it becomes that this mystery is personal in a way her earlier cases never were. The case is tied to her own family, the setting is unfamiliar, and the instincts she has built in London do not all transfer to Maltese streets.

Fun Facts

- For the first time in the franchise's history, Emmy-winner Harry Bradbeer has stepped out of the director's chair. Netflix officially handed the reins to Philip Barantini. Known for directing the critically acclaimed, high-stress cinematic thriller Boiling Point and the crime drama Adolescence, Barantini’s hiring was a deliberate move to push Enola Holmes 3 into a visibly darker, more mature, and intensely suspenseful tonal direction.

- While the first two movies anchored themselves heavily in the smoky, industrial alleys of Victorian London, Enola Holmes 3 transitions into a sweeping international canvas. The script takes Enola and the team on a massive case in Malta. Production spent over a month shooting across iconic, historic Mediterranean locations including the walled city of Mdina, the capital of Valletta, and Mellieħa.
