House Of the Dragon Season 3
Overview
The talking has run out. Season 3 opens with the devastating Battle of the Gullet as the Velaryon fleet clashes with the Triarchy in a brutal fight for the seas.
Rhaenyra positions herself to seize King's Landing following Alicent’s secret offer of surrender. However, a throne taken in wartime is never secure. The fallout of Alicent's betrayal ripples through the realm, especially since King Aegon II has already fled the capital.
Meanwhile, Aemond remains a volatile threat. With enemies closing in on land and sea, he pushes forward into the Riverlands with dangerous, single-minded certainty.
Backed by Daemon and a massive armada of dragons, Rhaenyra edges closer to absolute power, but holding it is another question entirely. Old alliances shatter, and the mounting deaths will decide who survives the Dance of the Dragons.

Fun Facts
- Matt Smith openly joked about his relief regarding Season 3's script. After spending almost all of Season 2 isolated at Harrenhal filming surreal, psychological ghost stories, he was thrilled to shoot alongside the main ensemble again, adding: 'Thank God, I get to interact with all the brilliant actors now. Not just a random goat.'
- Amid speculation about how long the Dance of the Dragons would last, the production team officially re-confirmed that the series is mapped to completely conclude with Season 4, which was greenlit by HBO ahead of Season 3's debut.
