Elliot is drifting, no plan, no direction, while his girlfriend Minerva stays buried in her academic world. Then Erika Tracy, a magnetic gallery curator and provocateur, hires him as her muse, sexual and otherwise. What starts as fantasy soon curdles into something else. The closer Elliot gets to Erika's world, the more he loses himself in it, obsession wearing the face of passion until betrayal, then worse, follows. Told backwards from a police interrogation room where Elliot already sits amid the wreckage, each revelation lands harder than the last. Funny, incisive, and unsettling, the film uses their collision to explore want and the dangerous gap between desire and readiness.
