Overview
Made in Korea is a captivating drama that tells the story of Shenba, a young woman from a small town in Tamil Nadu who dreams of visiting Seoul. Inspired by the legend of a Tamil princess, Shenba views South Korea as a spiritual calling rather than just a travel destination. However, her journey takes an unexpected turn when she arrives broke and stranded after her boyfriend betrays her trust. The film explores her struggles as she abandons her idealized fantasies to navigate the harsh realities of a foreign country.

- Director Ra. Karthik didn't need a market study; he just looked at his wife. Inspired by her 500GB hard drive of K-dramas and her kitchen experiments with Kimchi, he finally took her to Seoul during the 58-day shoot, calling it their ‘honeymoon’ a decade late.
- In a classic case of art imitating life, this was Priyanka Mohan’s first-ever international project. Much like her character Shenba, she navigated Seoul with wide-eyed wonder, surviving ‘weather roulette,’ and a steep learning curve with Korean food as a mostly-vegetarian traveler.
