Milky Subway The Galactic Limited Express
Overview
Chiharu and Makina weren't looking for trouble. They weren't actively seeking to avoid it either.
The charges are specific. Space traffic violations and destroyed police property are the kinds of incident reports that write themselves. Officer Ryoko Kanzaki of the Neo Machida Police Station has seen worse, probably, but the holding room conversation doesn't go anywhere useful, and community service is where it lands. There are six rule-breakers, one interplanetary train called the Milky Subway, and a handful of mops for them to use.
The rest of the group fills out the kind of roster you'd expect from a community service sentence handed down in a space precinct. Akane and Kanata, another superhuman pair with a comparable record. Kurt and Max, two cyborg companions who arrived here via their own series of poor decisions. Six people with nothing in common except a shared talent for ending up exactly where they shouldn't be.

Fun Facts
- The vast majority of Milky Subway was single-handedly created by a single artist: Yohei Kameyama. he wrote the script, designed the characters, modelled the environments, animated the sequences, and edited the entire project. He taught himself the 3DCG software Blender to pull it off.
- The fan-favourite cyborg gyaru, Makina Kurusu, went through a massive aesthetic evolution before the show's current look was finalized. In Kameyama’s early conceptual stages, Makina didn't have a human-like face at all. She had a literal, blocky machine head. She was later modified to have a sleek, humanoid CRT-TV box head with long hair, before finally settling into her current design
