Muthu Alias Kaattaan
Overview
Nobody agrees on who Muthu was. That is where the series starts and, in some ways, where it stays.
A village in Tamil Nadu is so quiet that the local police station is about to be shut down for lack of work. Then a severed head turns up on a hilltop with no sight of the body anywhere. Just the head, some cash, and a letter sitting next to it. The head is Muthu's. What follows is not so much a murder investigation as it is a series of contradictions wearing one man's face.
Muthu Alias Kaattaan is perfect for viewers who enjoy deep character studies and non-linear storytelling that challenges the audience to uncover the truth behind a legendary figure. It is an honest and raw look at how one life can hold many different, conflicting realities.

Fun Facts
- Vijay Sethupathi headlines the series, but he was so deeply passionate about the script that he produced it himself under his banner, Vijay Sethupathi Productions.
- To piece together Muthu's legendary status, the creators chose a highly fragmented, non-linear structure. Viewers are forced to jump back and forth across nearly six different distinct years including 1997, 2005, 2012, and 2017 to uncover the full picture.
