Overview

He almost didn't read it properly. Notes from the last row don't usually demand a second look.

This one did.

Heo Mun-oh is a grumpy literature professor and failed novelist; twenty years after publishing his debut novel, he hasn't written a single word since and now lives the quiet life of a literature professor harbouring a quiet disdain for students who struggle to form a proper sentence.

Everything changes when he notices Lee Kang, an engineering student who always takes the very last seat in the lecture hall.

One piece of writing brought Mun-oh to a complete halt. Not polished, not technically impressive, but alive in a way that most student work simply never is. Lee Kang's extraordinary gift for writing reignites Mun-oh's dormant passion. He offers private sessions. Kang agrees. Neither thinks too hard about it at the time.
