New York has a rule. Once a year, single people are allowed to have meaningless sex. Every other night, it is illegal, and this one night turns the city into something unrecognisable, strangers chasing connection however they can find it.

Owen gets dumped before it starts and doesn't even plan to participate. Allie is a hopeful romantic who still believes intimacy can mean something. They crash into each other on a street, and something shifts. A spark is there neither of them is looking for.

But the night does not cooperate. Missteps pile up fast, pulling them in opposite directions through unwanted side quests and the sheer madness of a city under different rules. As they chase each other across New York, they start to understand they are searching for something different from what everyone else wants.

Sometimes the one thing you want is closer than you think.
