Operation Safed Sagar
Overview
The Kargil War breaks out in May 1999, and the Line of Control stops being an abstraction. For the Golden Arrows Squadron pilots, it becomes the place where the rest of their lives get decided.
Operation Safed Sagar follows the untold story of Indian Air Force personnel across those 47 days, not the version simplified for screens and ceremonies but people who are just people, carrying doubts, fears, and friendships that mean everything when everything else is falling apart.
The operation is never only about air superiority or military strategy. It is about what happens inside a person at 30000 feet when the margin for error collapses to seconds, and there is nobody left to ask.
The series stays close to the human beings behind the mission, the camaraderie that keeps people functional, and what it costs and builds between them, something nobody has thought to document until now.

Fun Facts
- The project stems from deep real-world roots. The series was co-created by Kushal Srivastava, who served in the Indian Air Force before transitioning to filmmaking alongside Abhijeet Singh Parmar. Srivastava drew heavily from his first-hand military background and extensive interviews with surviving veteran pilots to ensure the technical jargon, cockpit mechanics, and squadron camaraderie felt authentic.
- The series marks a major genre shift for director Oni Sen, who previously earned widespread acclaim for directing the psychological thriller series Asur. Sen teamed up with production houses Matchbox Shots and Feel Good Films to deliver cinematic scale and complex human drama.
