Perfect Crown
Overview
Modern Korea kept its monarchy, and the monarchy kept everything that came with it. Seong Hee-joo has built a successful career as CEO of Castle Beauty, but elite society still dismisses her as a commoner because she was born illegitimate. No amount of money fixes the right surname.
Her solution is a contract marriage to Grand Prince Lee Ahn. His royal name for her money and influence. Lee Ahn has the bloodline and almost nothing else, sidelined by palace politics and treated as a quiet threat to the throne. He accepts because the arrangement suits him too.
They move in together. The conspiracy surfacing around them was not one either of them went looking for, and the forces working against the marriage have both resources and patience. The contract gives them cover. What grows underneath it was never part of the agreement.

Fun Facts
- Following the premiere of Episode 11, the drama faced intense backlash from viewers regarding historical inaccuracies during Grand Prince I-an's coronation sequence. In the scene, court officials chanted 'Cheonse!' (meaning 'Long live for 1,000 years') instead of 'Manse!' ('Long live for 10,000 years').
- The concept for the drama wasn't spun up overnight. The script was adapted from a screenplay written by Yoo Ah-in, which actually won a prize at the 2022 MBC Drama Screenplay Contest. It took nearly four years of development, fine-tuning, and world-building under writer Yoo Ji-won and hit director Park Joon-hwa before it finally made it to production.
