Overview

Shin Yi-rang is not the lawyer who commands a room. Timid, a little clumsy, the kind of person who quietly slips through the cracks of a profession that rewards confidence above almost everything else. He opens his own practice in a building nobody else wanted a former shaman's temple and that turns out to have its own very specific set of complications. He starts seeing ghosts. Worse, they can see him back. And they have opinions, grievances, unfinished business, and absolutely no intention of leaving him alone about any of it.

Phantom Lawyer is a courtroom drama and a ghost story and something warmer than either label suggests. What Yi-rang and Na-hyun discover, almost accidentally, is that helping the dead find peace has a way of doing the same thing for the living.

Fun Facts

- Each ghost client reflects a different social issue, from wrongful deaths to overlooked injustices, making the supernatural cases allegories for real world problems.

- Because his character, Yoo Yeon-seok essentially had to play a dozen different roles in a single show. He had to effortlessly pivot from his default timid, clumsy persona to embodying a rough 40-something gangster, a tragic girl-group trainee, and a genius scientist. Production crew members noted that his intense commitment to the physical comedy of these sudden 'shifts' kept the entire set laughing.
