Overview

Reacher is on a late-night Philadelphia subway when a woman across the carriage catches his attention. She is distressed, watching him with the kind of intensity that means something is about to happen. She pulls a gun. Seconds later she is dead, and Reacher is interrogated by cops who insist she took her own life.

He doesn't believe it. Her brother confirms what Reacher already suspects: she would never have killed herself. There is also a hard drive that extremely dangerous people are determined to recover. Lila Hoth arrives with her mother Amisha, tracking down an international connection to a deep-state conspiracy.

What starts as a woman's death on a subway becomes international terrorism, buried secrets, and a conspiracy reaching into places Reacher didn't know to look. Based on Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow, this season plays like a spy thriller more than anything Reacher has tackled before.

Fun Facts

- Demonstrating immense confidence in the franchise following Season 3's record-breaking viewership, Prime Video officially renewed Reacher for Season 5 ahead of Season 4's premiere. At San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Alan Ritchson confirmed that Season 5 will adapt Lee Child’s 20th novel, Make Me.

- Season 4 adapts Gone Tomorrow, widely considered by fans to feature one of the most intense and conspiracy-heavy setups in the entire book franchise. The story kicks off in  Philadelphia at 2:00 AM on a subway train, where Reacher notices a passenger exhibiting the classic behavioural indicators of a suicide bomber. His intervention triggers a deadly chain reaction involving political blackmail, federal intelligence agencies, and international operatives.
