Overview

Seven years in the same company teaches you things. Cha Ji-yoon has learned most of them the hard way. She's not bitter exactly. The job is manageable, the routine runs like clockwork. When 6pm hits, she is gone- no lingering, no overtime, just fried chicken and cold beer and the evening that belongs entirely to her.

Then Kang Si-woo shows up. The team leader everyone quietly warns each other about is not dangerous, just difficult. The kind of person whose presence reorganises a room without trying.

What the show gets right is that neither of them is looking for this. That's not a plot device, it's the whole point.

Fun Facts

- The drama is a highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the smash-hit 2020 Kakao webtoon titled Back to Work! by McQueen Studio. Because the webtoon garnered over 200 million views thanks to its incredibly realistic depiction of modern corporate exhaustion, the production team faced massive pressure to match the source material's signature mix of humor and emotional groundedness.

- Director Cho Eun-sol, recognized for indie and grounded projects like Perfect Shot and My Beautiful Apartment, deliberately avoided overly glamorous 'K-drama office' tropes. The production design focuses heavily on hyper-realistic Saeum Electronics cubicles, messy desks, and dull lighting to contrast the mundane reality of corporate life with the bright, unexpected romantic sparks that begin to fly 'between meetings.'
