Overview

Three childhood friends who grew up side by side drift apart without anyone quite deciding to do so. Years pass. Life gets in the way and stays there. Then something pulls them back to a reunion, and none of them is the same person who said goodbye.

What starts as catching up quickly turns into something messier and more honest than any of them planned for. Old feelings surface. Bad decisions get made with great enthusiasm.

Things go wrong in ways that are equal parts funny and uncomfortably real. Underneath the chaos, the reason they were ever close in the first place begins to make itself known again.

Side Heroes is a dramedy about three friends who try to rediscover what happiness actually looks like when they stop waiting for their lives to begin. It turns out joy was always there. It just needed to be found again.

Fun Facts

- Jab We Met and Rockstar filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is producing Side Heroes through his banner Window Seat Films, alongside Mahaveer Jain Films and Lyca Productions. The film marks the first time the three leads - Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Varun Sharma - share screen space together.

- All three leads are best known for scene-stealing supporting roles in major Bollywood hits. Varun Sharma from the Fukrey franchise, Abhishek Banerjee from Stree and Mirzapur, and Aparshakti Khurana from multiple mainstream releases. A film called Side Heroes, built around this specific trio, is a casting choice that makes its own statement. Varun Sharma summed it up best: he called it a project 'made by friends, for friends.'
