The East Palace
Overview
Secrets don't stay buried inside the East Palace. Not when the dead have found a way to keep speaking.
The king summons two people with nothing in common except impossible gifts. Gu-cheon can cross into the spirit world and destroy the spirits that dwell there. Saeng-gang hears the voices of the dead, conversations the rest of the palace is deaf to. Both of them are now chasing the same unsolved problem, and neither has the full picture yet.
The East Palace weaves the living and the dead into a single tangled story, and the mystery pulls both investigators deeper than either anticipated.

Fun Facts
- The show's journey to the screen faced a literal trial by fire. In December 2024, a massive, accidental fire broke out at the main outdoor filming set in Yeoncheon, completely burning the historical structures to the ground. While thankfully no cast or crew members were injured, the total destruction of the main set was a massive production setback. The crew had to execute a heroic, rapid rebuilding effort to keep the ambitious project on track for its 2026 premiere.
- While veteran powerhouse Cho Seung-woo is a titan of the Korean entertainment and musical theater industries, this series represents a major career pivot for him. The East Palace is officially his first-ever direct streaming OTT original series project. He steps into the role of the calculating, deeply complex King who sets the entire supernatural investigation into motion.
