Overview

Hollis Shaw has built a life that looks exactly the way she wants it to look from the outside. Cookbook author, food influencer, and impeccable host. Then her husband Matthew dies suddenly, and the life she curated has nothing to shield her from grief.

Her solution is a Five-Star Weekend at her Nantucket estate. One friend from each stage of her life: a childhood companion, a college roommate, an old friend from her adult years, and an internet confidante she has never met in person. Good food, fine wine, and honest conversation. The weekend she is imagining and the weekend that actually unfolds turn out to be very different things.

The women arrive carrying old histories, unresolved tensions and years of things left unsaid. So, what begins as a healing retreat becomes something else entirely with the things that friendship lets go unsaid for far too long.

Fun Facts

- Fans of classic 2000s rom-coms noticed a major Easter egg in the casting department. The series serves as a major on-screen reunion for Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer, who famously played frenemies Jenna Rink and Lucy 'Tom-Tom' Wyman in the beloved 2004 film 13 Going on 30. In The Five Star Weekend, Greer steps into the role of Electra, giving fans a massive hit of millennial nostalgia.

- Timothy Olyphant joins the star-studded ensemble as Jack, one of Hollis’s charming past boyfriends from her younger years. Known for playing rugged, gun-toting lawmen in intense dramas like Justified and Deadwood, Olyphant’s casting was praised behind the scenes as a breath of fresh air, allowing him to trade cowboy boots for coastal-casual knit sweaters and soft romantic dialogue.
