The Ghost in the Shell
Overview
Niihama City, 2029. The body is no longer permanent, and nobody marked the exact moment that changed. Limbs replaced, memories stored externally, the line between human and machine dissolving so gradually that most people simply adjusted and moved on. The city is more interconnected than it has ever been, and with that connectivity comes a new breed of threat that conventional law enforcement was never built to handle.

Fun Facts
- Original manga creator Masamune Shirow released an official statement charting out the franchise's massive history, noting that if you count up the distinct timelines, this 2026 series is the 10th animated adaptation overall. However, because of the massive generational shift in the production staff, Shirow officially labeled this series as the "first installment of a second generation" for the franchise.
- The musical score is being directed by Taisei Iwasaki alongside composers Ryo Konishi and Yuki Kanesaka. However, the biggest musical splash is the ending theme song, titled 'Blue.' The track is performed by Millennium Parade and features an unexpected, star-studded international collaboration with Canadian alternative artist Saya Gray and Grammy-winning R&B superstar Daniel Caesar.
