The Last House
Overview
Riley and Jason had an ordinary life, a home, two kids, unremarkable days. Then one morning, the house won't let them leave. Every door and window holds fast, and outside, something waits without moving, without explaining itself.
Days become weeks. Food dwindles, tempers fray, and the family fractures under pressure normal life never tested. Then weeks become years as the children grow up trapped, the siege now the only life they know.
The question is no longer how to escape, but why they're being held, and what it wants.
Sometimes shelter is the most dangerous place of all.

Fun Facts
- The film was initially announced and tracked during its early development and festival sales under the numerical title 11817. It was later rebranded to The Last House to lean into the claustrophobic, domestic terror of the narrative.
- Director Louis Leterrier noted that his primary goal with the film's production design was to slowly subvert the audience's psychological perception of a home. The crew spent weeks modifying the central house set so that what starts as a cozy, safe family haven gradually transforms into a deeply hostile, claustrophobic prison environment.
