George Hardy lies dead in his pasture, a spade through his chest. For years, George read detective novels aloud to his flock every night, assuming they couldn't possibly understand. They understood everything.

When the local police officer, a bumbling man who nearly shocks himself with his own taser, fails to find a lead, the sheep decide to take the investigation into their own hooves.

The Sheep Detectives is less a murder mystery and more a love letter to a man who spent his evenings reading stories to animals he thought couldn't hear him. They heard every word. And they are not going to let it go unanswered.
